Background |
| The Basic Life Support (BLS) Course for Healthcare
Providers aims to provide BLS knowledge and skills
of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation
with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen),
use of automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief
of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). This program
will make use of videotape, practical session and instructor
discussion to help participants to provide basic life
support in different settings. |

| The Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine
has been providing resuscitation training since 1991.
All accredited AHA instructors are practicing medical
or nursing colleagues with years of teaching experience. |

Test |
| To complete the BLS Course for Healthcare Providers,
Candidate should able to demonstrate the skills of CPR,
mouth-to-mask and bag-mask ventilation, use of AEDs, and
relief of FBAO for the responsive and unresponsive victim. |

| A post-course written MCQ examination will be issued.
Passing rate is 85%. |

Material |
| 2010 AHA BLS Provider Manual is ready
for collection after successful application. Early registration
and collection of course materials is recommended. |
