- Under the guidance of Dr Chiu Lai Hong, the EBM Subcommittee assists Dr Chiu for the development of COC guideline on Antibiotic usage in AEDs.
- Abstracts related to Literature Appraisal workshops have been accepted and presented at HA Convention 2006 and the EBM Network conference.
- Our college will nominate Peter Pang to attend “Knowledge Translation—Consensus Conference” in Chicago in May. Yau Wah Hon is also keen to join.? The website for reference: http://www.saem.org/saemdnn/Meetings/AnnualMeeting/AEMConsensusConference2007/tabid/362/Default.aspx
- Our college has sponsored a11 fellows and trainees to attend the EBM Network conference in December, 2006. Relevant reports and photo gallery have been uploaded at http://www.cem.org.hk/forum/index.php .
- The first college-organized Literature Appraisal workshop has been successfully held on 16th June, 2006. It was rewarding to have 25 senior trainees registered for the program. The response has been great. There is a budget surplus, too. It is pleasing that it has been a great event for both the tutors and tutees to learn and interact. ?It is expected that our workshop will be sowing seeds for high quality original articles and in the long run, advocating evidence-based emergency practice for members in the field.
- In Jan., 2006, our college sponsored 10 fellows to attend the 4th Asia-Pacific EBM conference & workshop. It proved to be a smart decision. Those who have received the sponsorship, have now become our tutors in the college and actively participated in the 2006 Literature Appraisal workshop.
- In the coming Feb., 2007, our college will sponsor 7 fellows and trainees to attend the 5th Asia-Pacific EBM workshop in Singapore.
